I had a 5 year affair with a married man. He was married for 37 years and I for 26 years. We loved each other. We both knew where we stood with each other, what to expect from each other and promised not to cross the lines.

We both had good marriages and wanted to keep them in tact. He was in a high profile position in our community. He knew my family and I know his.

Hi, I have been married for 8 years and my husband still keeps talking to his ex wife on the phone and helps her financially. She lives in another country and their two teenager children are living with us.

once a year he goes and visit her and she is not dating anyone else. She thinks my husband is no living with me because he told her that we were separated. He doesn't let me answer the phone in case is her calling. i ask him why he doesn't want her to know about me and he says he doesn't want to hurt her feelings.

Nearly 4 months ago, my long-time boyfriend (who had already asked me to marry him) suddenly and unexpectedly broke off our relationship. The only explanation he offered was that he didn't feel 'ready' for marriage.

I was totally shocked, hurt, and well, devastated. The problem is that I very much want to contact him again to see if there is any hope of restoring our broken relationship. This is against the advice of nearly all my friends and family, as they all say I should cut my losses and move on, but I just don't want to spend the rest of my life asking myself 'what if?'
