Are We Compatible?

I am a never married 41 year old woman, who is in a relationship of 4 years to a 47 year old never married man. We have no children. We just got engaged this year. I was kind of pushing for this and was ectatic to get a ring and proposal.

Now, I am getting cold feet about the upcoming marriage. He is a very independent man and I am afraid he will not share his total life with me, as in being with me at home, talking and being affectionate, not in a sexual way, but just by being close.

Me and my girlfriend have a baby together, and we both have been with other people since we been together and we are always fighting, then we make up and its been like this for 9 yrs.

Dr Turndorf,

I met a man about 4 years ago, we were very attracted to each other. He was married, so we stayed friends. He has been divorced for a year now.

We talk all the time on the phone. He suggests he can't date me because of his Muslim religion.

I'm 13 years older than he is. I have a teenage boy at home, so I like to keep things on a good level with him.

I really care for this man, yet he always suggests things, says how much he wants to be with me, but never comes through. . . . . . . . . . . I still live my life.
