Dear Dr. Turndorf, I hope you can give me some help. My boyfriend's family doesn't approve of my dating their son. I was told yesterday that the family hates me. I don't know what I can do to change things.

Should I still go to family gatherings? Or should I not care at all. What can I do to fix this problem?

My boyfriend and I are extremely happy. I've never been so happy and he sincerely seems to feel just the same.

So, I was shaken to the core when I recently found out that he has been checking out pics of local girls on 'myspace'. He's with me all the time, I know he isn't out actually meeting other people. And he swears that he is truly not searching for someone new. Can this be chalked up to and dealt with as male curiosity. Or is it more likely a warning sign?

I broke a promise to my gf and she took it very seriously. She's a very private person usually and doesn't let people know what's wrong or anything. So the next day she basically ignores me and has a fit that I lied to her. That went on for 3 days her being really mad about that. She's over it now, but it took a lot out of her.

I really didn't mean to and it was a spur of the moment decision. Now we both want to be close again because we're both afraid were gonna lose what we've made together. Here I'll let u read one of the emails she wrote me:

I am married and I have been messing up my relationship the whole time. 1 and a half years. I am a soldier in the army. I married her and went to Iraq.

I have known this woman 10 years but I always keep bringing up the past. I flipped out one night when I was drinking and from my Iraq experiences I blacked out and chocked her.
