I Don't Want to Depend on a Pill to Make Love with my Husband

Start of a question about Sex

HEY DR. LOVE,

HOPE YOU'RE DOING WELL. ANYWAYS, I HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR ONLY 4 MTHS WITH A MAN I'VE DATED OFF AND ON FOR 2 YEARS AND WE HAVE A ONE YEAR OLD SON TOGETHER.

WE HAVE A WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP TOGETHER AND HE IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME AND OUR SON. HE IS 37 AND I AM 24, WE DON'T HAVE SEX AS MUCH AS I WANT TO. HE SAYS HE DOESN'T HAVE THE DRIVE THAT HE USED TO AND SOMETIMES HE JUST CAN'T GET HARD/OR IT WON'T STAY THAT WAY FOR LONG.

Start of Dr Love's Answer

Sexual dysfunction isn't 'normal' at any age. In fact, a healthy man should expect to function sexually until his death. It may take longer for an older man to get an erection, his erections may not be as firm, and they may not occur as frequently as when he was younger, but, nevertheless, a man should expect his sexual organs to perform for the long haul.

Noncummer

Start of a question about Sex

Dr. Love,

I have a problem that I can't seem to talk to anyone about. I am a 21 year old female who can't cum. I have been having sex since I was 16, and I have never cum, I did not know that women did that untill my boyfriend got disappointed that I didn't.

He eats me, rubs me, and does every thing to please me. I do have orgasms, but I don't release fluid. It really bothers him, to the extent that he does not enjoy sex with me.

Start of Dr Love's Answer

You and your boyfriend are under a serious misconception! First of all, the term 'cum' is a slang term that is synonymous with orgasm. It sounds to me as though you and your lover are under the misimpression that to cum means to expel fluid at the time of orgasm. The release of fluid at orgasm, is called a female ejaculation.

Needy

Start of a question about Sex

I've been married for 16 yrs now. And I've only been intimate with my husband.

For the past 3 months my husband has been unable to keep an erection, he has spoken with his doctor and it's been determined that this may be medically related. His doctor prescribed Viagra, but my husband complains about the side effects and refuses to take them or anything else.

I'm worried that 34 yrs old is too young to go without being satisfied. Thank you from NEEDY

Start of Dr Love's Answer

I think there is more to this story than meets the eye. If it is true that your husband's doctor suspects that a medical condition (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, stress or depression) is causing his erectile dysfunction, then why isn't the doctor treating that condition?

Can a Large Penis do Damage?

Start of a question about Sex

Dear Dr. Love,

I am embarrassed to ask this question but I do not really have anyone else to ask. I was wondering if there are any actual risks to making love to someone with an exceptionally large penis.

My boyfriend is an athlete and bodybuilder and his erect penis is 11' long! (I measured) The diamater is nearly 8' long. I wonder whether this could pose problems in the future.

For example, what if things didn't work out with us? Does the vagina 'stretch' to accommodate-- and if so, does it'stretch' back?

Start of Dr Love's Answer

The vagina is made of up of flesh with tiny folds that expand and then contract. In childbirth, the vagina expands far more than it does when having intercourse, even with a man who has a large penis.

The Pleasure Just Goes Away

Start of a question about Sex

My sex life used to be great but for the past month or so it has gone downhill. It is real enjoyable for the first 15 minutes or so then that pleasure just goes away and nothing happens.

Me and boyfriend have tried different things but nothing seems to work. My boyfriend thinks it is him and it really has an effect on our relationship and advise u could give me will be greatly appericated.

Start of Dr Love's Answer

It sounds like your pleasure reaches what is called the plateau phase and then fades away before you peak out at orgasm. A lot of things can cause the problem you describe.

He No Longer Finds You Sexually Attractive

Start of a question about Sex

I have been with my partner for nearly five years, but days ago he dropped the bombshell that he thinks that he no longer finds me sexually attractive. As far as I can tell, everything was fine until about a month ago. He says that he has been confused for longer, however.

Things were exacerbated when he restarted university; he met a girl that he found attractive, which made him realise that he didn't find me attractive. He was never unfaithful (physically), but he told her how he felt, and she wasn't interested.

Start of Dr Love's Answer
I am very suspicious of where your boyfriend is coming from--no pun intended. If you look the same as you always did and he always found you attractive, then why is he suddenly no longer attracted to you? I suspect that there is some other issue that is surfacing at this time and that this is responsible for his changed feelings.

White Specks on His Finger

Start of a question about Sex

HI

I HAD A SEX-LIKE QUESTION. WHEN MY BOYFRIEND FINGERS ME SOMETIMES WHEN HE TAKES HIS FINGER OUT THERES LITTLE WHITE SPECKS OR SOMETHING ON HIS FINGER..

WHATS THAT FROM? CAN I STOP IT FROM HAPPENING?

Start of Dr Love's Answer

These white specks are most likely a sign of a yeast overgrowth or infection. Yeast lives normally inside the vagina, but this yeast can grow out of control for many reasons, which include: stress, a diet that is too high in sugars and carbohydrates, hormonal imbalances, use of birth control pills and/or hormone drugs, antibiotics, pregnancy, and even diabetes.

Sex Is Just Not Awesome

Start of a question about Sex

I lost my virginity at 16, and since have had a few sexual partners, including a husband of a year. I've been divorced for about 5 months and have started a new 'old' relationship, sex was just kind of understood.

The thing is, I don't think I've ever had an orgasm with any partner. I was a very sexually active wife and have continued with my new partner, but something is still missing.

Start of Dr Love's Answer

You say you've never had an orgasm with any partner. You didn't say that you have ever had an orgasm with yourself.

You Masturbate as a Substitute for Sex with Your Hubby

Start of a question about Sex

I am much more interested in sex than my husband. It causes problems in our marriage because I feel he doesn't love me as much because he rejects my advances more often than not.

To compensate, I masterbate fairly frequently. We have been married 14 years and have a 4 year old and a 9 month old. I get less sleep by far than he does and yet he still uses the too tired excuse, among others, on a regular basis.

If it weren't for the kids and the fact that he is truly a good man, I'd probably already be cheating. What do I do?

Start of Dr Love's Answer

In order to decipher the cause of the problem, I'll need more information. I will ask the questions and you can answer them on your end. These answers will guide you to the cause of the problem.

The Monster Yeast Infection

Start of a question about Sex

hello Dr. Love,

my boyfriend and i have been together for almost 2 years now. At first we had great sex, until i developed an yeast infection. We have tried everything to get rid of it and nothing helps.

He gets hurt when i do not feel like having sex, and at the same time i get upset at him that he does not understand me.

What would you recommend i do. I do not have this earge for sex anymore, is it because of the infection?

Start of Dr Love's Answer

You need to see your gynecologist and make sure that you actually do have a yeast infection. It's possible that you haven't cured the infection because you aren't dealing with a yeast overgrowth at all. Maybe you have a bacterial infection.
