Hi Dr. Turndorf,

My problem is that usually when my boyfriend and I have sex or after one or both of us have an orgasm he would start itching around his penis. sometimes i too would itch around my vagina.

Is this normal?


Answer

No, itching isn't normal. The most likely cause of itching is a yeast infection. It is also possible that you are using a product to which you are both allergic.

However, the likelihood that you would both be allergic to the same product isn't very great. I would still be more inclined to think that you are passing a yeast infection back and forth.

Get checked by your gynecologist and he can go to his internist or urologist.
