Excuses, or is it me?

Hi there,

I've only ever been in 3 relationships, but my previous girlfriends have all left me for somebody else.

My first girlfriend said she wanted to be single whilst she goes to University and we should 'break the ties' so she can continue with her career aspirations. About 3 days later I learned that she was in another relationship.

My second girlfriend admitted to cheatingSee Infidelity. on me several times and then left me for one of the guys she cheated on me with.

And my latest girlfriend said she only ever really saw me as a friend. I'm the sort of guy she wants in the rest of her life, just as a friend, and now is dating someone who she works with.

I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong, but it really brings me down and makes me feel potentially useless as a future boyfriend as I feel I will not be able to please future partners and make them feel happy. I always try my best and I'm completely faithful to them. I just find it strange they all left me for someone else and had an excuse for why they did so.

I think to sum up, I just feel useless at the whole relationship thing and feel I shouldn't really bother in future...
